Working with Cameron is always a dream but this shoot in particular was seriously the most fun I've had in a while. And, to top it all off, we got some amazing content she can use for her YouTube, website, and Instagram. Branding shoots are always a necessity when it comes to building your personal brand and I am so glad I got to collaborate with Cameron once again to make her vision come to life!

Preparation & planning

Before Cameron's shoot we had talked over what she was planning on using the content for, the vibe she was going for, her different options for locations, and what she was going to wear. She mentioned she's recently started a YouTube channel and that she needed a few beachy, San Diego aesthetic photos as she's working on creating a lifestyle and travel brand. Along with this, she was hoping to get a couple of shots she could post to Instagram and use on her website some of which she wanted to be more casual and others a bit more dramatic. Ultimately, she decided she wanted to do her photoshoot at Windansea beach and figured that there may be a few surfers there to add to the vibe she had in mind.

A quick recap of our session

When we arrived at Windansea beach we immediately hit it off once again. Something about branding sessions makes for such an easy and fun environment to connect in, the personal and creative aspect allows both me and the client I'm shooting with to be so ourselves which really helps the clients content come across as authentic and true to them. I can't express enough how much I love working one on one with fellow creatives!

Once we found a spot on the beach that wasn't too busy we talked over a few poses she had in mind and I started giving her prompts to get those specific shots. If you don't know what a prompt is, it's an action photographers ask subjects to do to capture a specific moment so that the photo doesn't look posed and instead looks candid. One example of this was when I asked Cameron to walk towards me as if she were on a high fashion runway while running her hand through her hair.

After running through a few different prompts, talking about life, and laughing our way through poses, we ended the shoot with Cameron dancing amid the beautiful water. If you'd like to view a few photos from her session make sure to check them out above and if you'd like to see her full gallery simply scroll to the bottom of this post. It's always a pleasure working with like-minded creatives and I can't wait to see how Cameron incorporates her photos into her content along what my next branding and lifestyle sessions have in store!
